Stickers

"Spencer, where did you put your sticker?"

Halloween weekend

This year the boys and I had 4 fun-filled evenings of Halloween fun.It began with a small Halloween party that Lindsey and I threw for Spencer, Alex, and Natalie.
We played a ton of games, including: Halloween bowling, pin the face on the jack-o-lantern, throw the rat into the Calderon, and had a Halloween cake walk. After all of the games, my sister Lindsey came in and announced, "I caught a witch last night!" Spencer's face dropped; and I'm sure that his stomach did too. She put the witch's hair, eyes, and brains into bowls and made the kids reach into a box to feel them. Spencer was so timid, and nervous about the whole situation.
This is his relieved, "trying to put on a smile for the team" face...you can tell he was not amused by our stunt. We had to tell him over and over, "it's not really witch's hair, it's just noodles...or blue jello...or grapes."
Friday night (29th) Borah High's honor society helped out with Monroe Elementary Halloween Party. Since Katie was going to volunteer with Honor Society, we invited ourselves to the Halloween bash.
The next evening was trunk-or-treat down the street at our church. Spencer loves trunk-or-treat...a lot of candy with hardly any hassle. Scott didn't join us as cowboys, he put his gorilla suit on instead....quiet the bunkhead.
The final event was actual Halloween evening. However, it got the least amount of hype. Scott took the boys on their usual rounds while I laid in the bed ill...tons of fun. This is Spencer's 4th Halloween, and it is only the 2nd that Scott has been around for. The 3 previous years he was either out of town for work, or working the haunted woods, so he had no problems taking the boys by himself.

Four-wheeler ride

McCall is a beautiful place to take a four-wheeler ride, and Spencer can't get enough of it. For such a timid child, who is afraid of quite a bit, he sure does love to go fast. While visiting Pannell side of the family a few weeks ago, we decided to take a family four-wheeler ride to Boulder Lake. Between 7 four-wheelers we were able to pile on 10 adults and 14 kids.

Utah Trip

A few weeks ago Scott, the boys and I took a quick trip down to Utah for a funeral. We were accompanied by Scott's parents, his older brother Jason, and his wife Lisa. Planning for this trip was done on a whim; this particular funeral was unexpected. The funeral was for Scott's mom's cousin...not exactly sure what the title would be to Scott...second cousin?? It was an emotional, yet beautiful funeral. The funeral was only about 30 minutes outside of Salt Lake, so Scott and I decided to stay an extra day to visit Salt Lake, and one of my best friend's Melina. The replica of the Salt Lake Temple is amazing, and definitely worth your while to go see.I think this is the 3rd or 4th time that Spencer has stayed in a hotel...and he is on cloud 9 everytime. He loves to go in the elevator, find our room #, swim in the pool, go get ice, go to the vending machine...he gets so hyper. Spence thinks it's hilarious to make funny faces for the camera...one thing that drives me insane when I'm trying to get a good picture. Isn't that something that teenagers do??...but a 3 year old?..sometimes funny, yet very irritating.
It was so nice to see my friend Melina. We grew up together..literally, I don't know if a day went by when we didn't see each other. We only got to see each other for a few hours one evening, but it was so fun...we walked around Temple Square and then went out to eat. The next day, which was Sunday, Scott and I walked around temple square, listened to a few presentaions in the visitors centers, walked around the conference center and then came home. It was really nice to get out of town, and definitely need to stay longer next time.
