Mountain Mama Days with the Matagi's

Our good friends, the Matagi's, own an awesome lemonade stand called Leialoha lemonade. They sell lemonade every Saturday at the Boise farmer's market, as well as a few other festivals. Scott and I helped them with their booth this year at the Mountain Mama Days in Stanley Idaho. The booth ran most all day for 2 days, and we camped overnight. Scott has helped them out several times before, and is turning into quit the little lemonade maker...not quit as good as Sefa and Fanua:)This was an attempt to take a picture with the timer on the camera. In the original picture, we were in the right half, and a bunch of trees took up the left half. Scott is halfway cut out, so I cropped a little of Fanua out to balance it.The FamSpencer and Naki..They had a ball together. The activity of choice was throwing sticks into the water.Scott was very sticky and sweaty after 10 hours of squeezing lemons, so he decided to take a bath in the river...or maybe it's a stream...I don't know...When swimming is involved, Spencer can never be left out.Spencer loves taking pictures...hence the camera angle.

4th of July

We blessed Parker on the 4th of July...Scott was also confirmed on July 4th, both of us went through the temple for the 1st time on St. Patrick's Day, and we were married on April Fool's Day...we like holiday's (not that April Fool's day is really a holiday I guess). Parker was so cute, he didn't cry, just looked around. We blessed Parker in the same outfit Spencer used. However, it drowned Spencer and was a little short on Parker. The whole family got together for a big dinner, and fireworks. Unfortunately Scott had to go up to Cascade, to sheet rock the living quarters of the Cascade Fire Department. So he wasn't there, but Lindsey's husband Nate was there. Nate works graveyard, and starts Sunday night, so we usually don't see him Sunday evenings because he is sleeping. But he had that day off because of the 4th.This is my favorite cake. It is a lot like "fruit pizza" as a lot of people call it...but instead of just whipped cream on top, its a cream cheese/cheesecake mixture. They are all ready for fireworks. We can see the Boise fireworks from our driveway. We live in a part of Boise called "the bench", it is up a hill, overlooking downtown. Our street comes to a "T", and at the "T" you look directly at our church. The fireworks, which are done at a park downtown, look like they are coming up over the church...perfect view.Spencer loved the sparklers. He also loves Harry Potter, we told him that the sparkler was his magic wand:) So he kept making the motion of casting a spell:)The sparklers were about the only thing he liked. Spence doesn't like loud noises...wonder where he gets that from??...the little fireworks that we set off in the driveway while we waited for the big fireworks didn't thrill him. After about 20 minutes he was so upset, and just bawled to go inside. It took everything I had to coax him into staying outside to watch the big fireworks. Those he loved, they were far enough away that they weren't loud.

Summer Fun

I can't believe that summer is almost halfway over!! We have managed to stay pretty busy, but it doesn't seem like we've done nearly as much this summer, as we did last summer. However, last summer we went to Disneyland, so I don't think that we can top that. Here are a few miscellaneous things that we have done thus far:

Spencer loves to play with Parker, and Parker is starting to smile.. a lot. It doesn't matter how many times I tell Spence he needs to be soft, he's going to get right up in his face and play rough.buckets have so many usesSeveral wards in Boise rent out the Hydrotube, as a ward party. Our ward use to do it every year, but unfortunately hasn't for awhile...however, my sister's ward still does. It's a lot of fun for the kids, because it has to be rented out after hours...Spence thought that it was great to go swimming when we should have been sleeping. Can never get enough of the park:)We love to go boating. The boat puts Spencer to sleep:)

Camping

We finally got a chance to go camping this summer!! We went to Ponderosa State Park in McCall. My family, Lindsey with her 2 kids, and Katie all got to go. Scott got a new grill this year...and it's awesome! We cooked our food so fast:)Spencer is such a boy...he loved fishing, and throwing rocks in the lake.Parker just laid around most of the time:)The first night brought a huge wind storm...as well as rain. The wind up-rooted this treeThe second night brought about another wind storm. This tree was right next to our campsite, and we weren't quite sure how it was still standing. When the wind came again, we bailed and went home.
