Christmas!!

Pictorial view of Christmas day....

Can't have much more fun than a little boy and a train set

scratch that...any size boy and a train set

Scott and Katie showing off their boxing skills on our new wii. Katie's got some pretty mad skills:)

Natalie loved boxing uncle Scottie

Still proudly sport the BSU shirts, even after one crap of a bowl game
We decided to go bowling this year. Every year, after the morning fun, we end up sitting around not doing much. Since movies aren't very fun with a 1, 2, and 6 year old, we decided to hit up the bowling alley.
Sometimes I want to throw a fit too when I don't hit any pins; just flop on the ground and start screaming:)

We went up to McCall to visit Scott's family the day after Christmas. We mostly played games, and with the wii. I didn't take any pictures, except this one. This is Spencer trying to sleep while we are loudly playing games next to him.

Christmas was really fun this year, it was fun to see how excited Spencer was. Besides the train set, he got different toys from all of his favorite shows. Backyardigans dune buggy, and stuffed characters, Elmo memorabilia (his favorite), mickey mouse bath stuff, and a stuffed life-size Handy Manny or in Spencer's words "Ham-me", with sing/dancing toolbox/tools. He also got some cars, and other misc. stuff. He never wanted to help me open his presents, just sit next to me and watch. You could tell he was so excited to see what was inside.

Christmas Eve

Christmas eve was a little different this year. I was recruited for a "paying gig", if you will, on my flute. I was contacted by the music director of a Luthren Church to perform on Christmas eve, with there choir, for there Christmas eve service. The church was conviently located very close to my grandparents house, where my family always goes for Christmas eve. I had to do a 7:00 p.m. service and a 9 p.m. service. So I spent my evening going back and forth from my grandparents and the church. It wasn't bad though, they pay excellent. I played the 1-minute song at 7, got $50...played it again at 9, got $50 more. So I can't complain.

The fam playing the candy bar game....family favorite

Gingerbread houses

Can't have much more fun than decorating gingerbread houses! Spencer had a blast. We decorated each piece individually, then constructed the house. I spread frosting across the entire thing, then he just started putting the candy where ever he wanted. We initially started out with a fully constructed house, but the roof couldn't support the amount of frosting (We were glue-gunless). At first, he would grab a piece of candy and try to eat it, so we would redirect his hand towards the house. After doing this, give or take ten times, he finally put it straight on the house instead of taking a detour.
Spencer in action! (First attempt before roof slide off)
Cousin Alex in action!
Quick break to do this....not entirely sure what he was doing
Final product with modified roof
Final product after modified product collapsed....we call it the gingerbread cave!

Winter Wonderland

Sunday morning we woke up to a huge snow storm, which left a few inches of snow on the ground. It snowed most of today also, and the forecast has very cold and snowy throughout the rest of the week. So we decided to go buy a sled, and take it for a whirl. There's a park, a few minutes away from our house, that sits right at the base of the foothills; prime spot for sledding. You can go up as high as you want, and it goes pretty high. We stayed near the small hills, but Spencer loved them. He's still not too thrilled with the snow clothes though. He looked like Randy, the little brother on "A Christmas Story"...who couldn't put his arms down because he had on so many layers.

What have we been up too?

I told Scott that I'd blog a lot when he's out of town....But I've been sooo busy. I'm trying to take care of Spencer, study for my finals, and take them all by myself. So here are the past few days in a nut-shell:

Played Christmas music with the flute choir...picture turned out dark..luckily I caught the light!

Helped Grandpa put up Christmas lights
Too much work putting up lights, we'll go jump on the tramp
Ward Christmas Dinner
This was our 2nd attempt with Santa, the 1st attempt was a big screaming nightmare
Got matching Christmas pajamas...well got matching jamas for Christmas, not Christmas-themed jamas....obviously
And sat in the hot tube.

Out of Town

Scott's work took him back out of town. He's in Phoenix now, and when that job is finished they are headed straight for Texas. He won't be back until the 22nd. Then when he returns from there, he has a job in McCall from the 22nd through the 30th. He's coming home for Christmas, then hopefully, I'll just go back up with him to finish the McCall job. I told him he needs a Christmas tree in his hotel room, because he'll miss out on all the Christmas festivities. Somehow, I'll try to take care of Spencer and study (and take) all my finals without him. For now, I'm back to blogging everything I do, to keep Scott updated. So what did we do today?......

Stood around
Played on the floor

Backed up into things
Looked at the Carousel

And did some push-ups

Played in baskets

And took a nap....So comfy, I wouldn't want to sleep on a hard crib mattress either!
